WCD2 presented at international heart care congress in Astana
On 17 September 2026, WCD2 was presented at the international “eXcellence and Value in Heart Care” congress in Astana, Kazakhstan. The two-day event brings together healthcare professionals, cardiovascular specialists and medical technology companies from around the world.
With participants from Central Asia, Europe, the United States and other international markets, the congress provides an important platform for professional exchange and for discussing current developments in cardiac care and medical technology.
International interest in WCD2
WCD2 was presented at the congress by Swift Medical, our official distributor in Central Asia, giving visitors the opportunity to see the system directly and learn more about its application in combination with heater-cooler units (HCUs) used in cardiac surgery.
A particular focus of the discussions was the challenge of maintaining reliable process water quality in HCUs. WCD2 was developed to support this procedure through an automated electrochemical process water treatment approach, designed to reduce the manual effort in comparison to conventional processes.
The presentation attracted interest from healthcare professionals and industry representatives from a wide range of countries. The international audience also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences regarding different clinical routines, hygiene requirements and approaches to HCU operation.
Connecting with the international cardiac care community
International heart care congresses such as this one are especially valuable because they allow new technologies to be discussed directly with the people working with cardiac surgery equipment in their daily practice.
The conversations in Astana provided useful insights into the requirements of different hospitals and markets while also demonstrating that process water quality in HCUs is an important topic across healthcare systems worldwide.
